We were tasked with designing a light and airy modern shaker kitchen to go in this lovely new open-plan kitchen/living area extension, suitable for busy family life.
Two-tone kitchens remain as popular as ever, but that doesn’t always mean sticking to the set rule of perimeter and island cabinetry colours being separate. For this kitchen we opted for the beautiful Reed Green finish for the perimeter base and tall cabinets, with striking Brilliant White wall cabinets thrown into the perimeter mix, which perfectly ties in the modern handleless white island cabinets.

There were various structural hurdles to overcome on this design, including staircase angles, structural piers and beams. Our designers always aim to work with the room (not against it) so we will always maximise every inch of possible space, so for this design we incorporated some heavily bespoke cabinetry and made the units around several piers, with the main focus being the bespoke tall corner larder cupboard -a lot of site surveys and production meetings resulted in a highly functional kitchen that is expertly designed with no wasted space.
The main run features some really lovely bold reeded brass statement hardware, whereas we opted for an understated handleless channel on the white island (not only for aesthetics but also for functionality to avoid knees banging against handles when sat at the sociable breakfast bar island seating area)
The stunning Calacatta Nuvo quartz worktops finish off the overall scheme nicely with striking full height sink splashback (again expertly fitted around a pier!) and dramatic mitred waterfall edge island panel, giving the wow factor when entering this amazing new family space.
