Bespoke Handleless Scandi oak
a particularly enjoyable and collaborative project, offering a unique twist from our usual approach.
For this one, the client had a very specific requirement in mind for the oak finish frontals, and had already sourced their own white washed oak doors — a beautiful, characterful choice that brought warmth and texture to the space, supplied by another great local company - DTS Carpentry. With this key design element already in place, our role was to bring everything else together seamlessly. We took care of the full kitchen layout and design, and built all the internal cabinets, and supplied the appliances to ensure a cohesive and highly functional finish.
The result is a clean, modern scandi-style kitchen that balances natural materials with crisp, contemporary lines. The oak doors add a tactile, organic feel that anchors the space, while the handleless cabinetry design keeps things sleek and understated. We paid close attention to proportions and symmetry, as seen in the generous island with its integrated open shelving — perfect for cookbooks or display items. The trio of pendant lights above provides warm task lighting and a sense of balance, drawing the eye into the heart of the room.
Functionality was a major focus of the design. We incorporated ample storage, integrated appliances for a streamlined look, and practical touches like the pull-out corner storage and deep pan drawers. The palette of soft neutrals and natural finishes ensures the kitchen feels light, inviting, and effortlessly liveable. It’s a space tailored exactly to the client’s vision — a true meeting of their design input and our (combined) craftsmanship.
