Baystone In-Frame Shaker Three Farm Green & Pearl Colour
Another really lovely extension and full house renovation, we opted for a classic in-frame shaker style kitchen but with some modern touches to compliment the contemporary features in the extension.

Little Greene - Three Farm Green (Ella Austin showroom exterior paint colour!)
This strong green paint colour originates from the National Trust archives. The West Sussex estate on which Standen House sits was previously three farms, bought in 1890 by James Beale, a prosperous solicitor. He commissioned architect Philip Webb and the designer, William Morris, to build and furnish the home. A fabulous example of an Arts & Crafts House, Standen is adorned in Morris’ distinctive style: wallpaper and fabric patterns, carpets and paint colours. This deep green paint can be seen on the panelling of the Dining Room, a backdrop to the Beale family’s collection of blue and white porcelain.
Keeping with a modern light and airy theme throughout the extension, we went with an off-white shade from Little Greene called Pearl Colour Mid for the perimeter cabinetry, then for the island we went with the striking contrast of Little Greene Three Farm Green, which is actually the same colour the exterior of our showroom is painted - the client liked it so much we chose this for the island!
The perimeter run features an abundance of drawer storage in close proximity to the cooking area, with eye-level ovens and plenty of overhead storage, finished with a freestanding fridge-freezer on the end.
The island features a huge undermounted ceramic sink, integrated dishwasher and bin, and further cupboard and drawer storage.
A bifold pantry cupboard is usually something we try to include in most of our kitchens, and for this design we came up with the idea to introduce full height window to separate the main perimeter run and the pantry cupboard - thus creating more of a feature of the pantry cupboard, as well as introducing lots of natural light and giving a lovely view of the garden from the main kitchen prep space.
We’re often asked about trying to match handles and hardware throughout a kitchen or mixing different metal finishes - this kitchen is a great example of brass cabinet handles working perfectly with the stainless steel finishes on the ovens, fridge and tap.
